Bird Dogs and Field Trials ~ Jack Harper
Hall of Famer, Jack Harper’s remarkable autobiographical memoir as well as bird dog training manual was published by Cass Hill, Inc. in 1983. Jack traces his life from his birth in Texas 1902 through his long successful field trial career as a professional handler winning with the likes “The Texas Ranger”, “The Arkansas Ranger”, both in the Hall of Fame as well as many other dogs like “Home Again Hattie” and “John Oliver”. But that’s not all, the book covers topics: the dog’s reasoning power, training, as well as his thoughts on some of the most distinguished handlers of his time. A must for any bird dogger’s book shelf!
