Dedication
Eugene’s Ghost and Becky Broom Hill, painting by Iwan L. Lotton.
To all bird dogs, great and small, famous and obscure. For they give so much and sacrifice so willingly, always eager to please and asking nothing in return.
It is the dogs that display the courage, devotion and athletic supremacy to elevate the sport of field trialing to its highest peaks. They are the gladiators, the valiant competitors so worthy of our honor and praise. They are the stars that shine so brightly and we are merely the supporting cast coming in from the shadows to share in the warmth of their glow.
