Recognition for Scouts ~ Interview with Lee Phillips
Thanks to All-Age trainer/handler Lee Phillips for taking the time to speak with me before I left Georgia in early April. The topic: Establishing a method of giving recognition to All-Age scouts:
Lee Phillips at the 2007 National Championship. Scout, Tommy Davis with Chickasaw Butterfly.
Butterfly was braced with setter, Tommy B handled by Rich Robertson and scouted by Nick Thompson.
1971 National Free-for-All Championship — Wrapup, the winner is on left, posed by
Ben (Man) Rand Jr., fabled scout for Clyde Morton, and Oklahoma Flush, close contender,
with Tommy Long, scout. Standing, John Rex Gates, left, handler of Flush, and Billy Morton,
handler of Wrapup.
*Currently, Man Rand is the only scout who has been inducted to the Field Trial Hall of Fame. (1991)
David Johnson scouted for John Rex Gates for most of his illustrious career.
David is shown here at the 2013 Florida Open All-Age Championship, Branford, FL.
Trainer/Handler Tommy Davis scouting for Luke Eisenhart at the 2015 Southeastern
Quail Championship, Sasser, GA.
Lee Phillips at the breakaway of the second brace of the 2015 Masters Open Quail
Championship, Albany, GA. Trey Mills scouting Chickasaw Zachery.
